Cory was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. After attending college at Indiana University, he returned back to Evansville to start his career teaching in the public schools of Evansville. He spent 30 years with the Evansville schools, serving in teaching, counseling, and administrative positions. He is married to his wife, Staci, who is also an educator. Staci and Cory have two daughters, Riley and Reaghan, who now live in the Indianapolis area.
Cory started his ministry on a part-time basis in 2005, serving United Methodist churches in Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties. The Sullivan Community Connection churches are his first full time appointment. Staci is teaching English at North Knox High School.
